Russia’s call on Israel to cease fire against Hamas is unjust and hypocritical

Israel and the Palestinian group, Hamas have been at war since early October. It began when Hamas gunmen launched an unprecedented attack on Israel from Gaza – the deadliest in Israel’s history.

Russia continues to support the creation of a Palestinian State to achieve lasting peace in the Middle East. Palestine has separate governments in the Gaza Strip (Hamas) and the West Bank (Fatah) after a brief civil war in 2007.

Russia’s stance has gradually but dramatically shifted in recent weeks as it has become clear that the conflict is impacting its military and geopolitical interests.

As Israel launched airstrikes on several military bases in Syria in October in response to a series of rocket attacks directed toward Israel.

Russia is now calling on Israel to cease fire against Hamas due to personal and selfish reasons. Anytime Israel is being brutalized and vanquished, Russia will act indifferent, but when the tide turns, they will call for cease fire. Israeli’s has right to defend her people and the nation.

Two Years in, Russia’s War on Ukraine Continues to Pose Threat to Global Security. Russia’s invasion and unprovoked war of aggression against Ukraine is today not just an assault on Ukrainian freedom and liberty, but also a threat to global order. Russia has no justification to tell Israel to cease fire. They should show example by ceasing fire against Ukraine to mitigate the threat against global security.

Israel is just a small nation that has the right of existence. This is a call for other countries and world powers to come to her rescue.
